List of Post-MSW Fellowships

Post-MSW fellowships are programs that allow you to receive further education and social work experience after you have completed your MSW. Often times, you need to apply for the fellowship during the time you are in your MSW program.

Clinical Focus

  • W.E.B. Du Bois Diversity Fellowship

    The mission of the CCPH W.E.B. Du Bois Diversity Fellowship is to continue the multicultural training and clinical experience of the early career clinician who has successfully completed the masters in social work or a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology.  We will offer continued supervised clinical experience, to deepen and broaden the fellow's clinical skills.  Our goal is for them to leave the fellowship en route to the independent level of clinical practice. Fellows will be expected, in addition to general clinical responsibilities, to provide training and support to underrepresented campus communities.

  • Lyra Health

    Lyra is pleased to announce its inaugural fellowship program. This fellowship strives to reduce disparities in the mental health field by addressing key systemic barriers to licensure for underrepresented associate social workers.

  • Kip LGBTQ Fellowship Program

    Fellows gain advanced clinical expertise in working with LGBTQ people. Participation in the fellowship fully meets New York State requirements for clinical licensure in social work. Program duration is two years at approximately 25 hours per week. Includes yearly stipend, benefits, and supervision.

  • North Carolina State Counseling Center, Post-Master’s Fellowship

    One- to two-year, full-time fellowship designed to prepare individuals for a staff position in a university counseling setting, with particular emphasis on social workers wishing to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Meets partial requirements of North Carolina state licensure.

  • Albert Einstein College of Medicine Fellowship

    The Palliative Care Social Work Fellowship is a one-year, full-time position from July through June. The goal of the fellowship is to develop specialty-trained palliative care social workers who will contribute to the care of seriously ill older adults in underserved communities in New York City and become future leaders in this field.

    The Social Work Fellowship Program at Boston Children's Hospital is committed to offering advanced training for clinical social workers.

  • Colorado State University Fellowship

    We seek high-energy individuals who are open to learning, able to balance multiple roles and responsibilities, receptive to feedback and motivated to develop a wide range of skills that may be requested of a university-based mental health professional.

  • Counseling and Consultation Service at Ohio State University Clinical Fellowship

    The mission of the Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) is to provide a comprehensive array of mental health services to assess, prevent, treat and resolve the mental health issues of OSU students. More specifically, we promote the personal well-being and academic success of students by providing comprehensive individual and group mental health services, psycho-educational prevention and outreach programming; by influencing the community as a nurturing environment through support, advocacy and education/training; by enhancing the academic quality of life; and by supporting the emotional, relational and intellectual development of the students served and the mental health professionals in training.

  • Clinical Social Work Training | Psychiatry - Michigan Medicine

    The Social Work Post Graduate Program provides a 1 - 2 year post Masters graduate training with extensive clinical experience, supervision and educational opportunities in clinical social work while working towards full licensure.

  • University of Michigan Consulting and Psychological Services Fellows

    The diverse staff members at Counseling and Psychological Services are enthusiastic about being mentors and providing training to our clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work interns, post-doctorate fellows, and post-MSW fellows. Our supervision-intensive program and “open-door” policy provide a warm and supportive atmosphere.

  • University of North Carolina Chapel Hill: The Counseling and Psychological Services Post MSW Social Work Fellow

    Counseling and Psychological Services provides psychological services to all students enrolled at UNC Chapel Hill who have paid the student health fee. The psychological/counseling services provide individual, couples, and group therapy, same-day triage appointments, crisis intervention, outreach services and medication evaluation and management. The team also provides risk assessment evaluation for the Dean of Students office.

  • University of Washington: Integrated Care Fellowship

    In recognition of the burden of disease and mortality associated with substance use disorders, the Veterans Health Administration established the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System Center of Excellence in Substance Addiction Treatment and Education, which serves as a national resource to improve the quality, clinical outcomes and cost-effectiveness of health care for veterans with substance use disorders.

  • VA Interprofessional Advanced Fellowship in Addiction Treatment

    Two-year post-residency, post-doctoral research, education and clinical learning opportunities for eligible physicians and associated health professionals at seven VA Medical Centers across the nation. Fellows spend 75% of their time in research and education and 25% in clinical care at selected VA sites.

  • Yale University School of Medicine, Advanced Clinical Social Work Fellowship

    This training program is to build the capacity and skill set of clinical social workers to maintain the intellectual curiosity, concern for clients, and attention to detail necessary to provide excellent clinical interventions with children, youth, and families and become leaders in the field.

  • University of Colorado–Boulder Counseling Fellowship

  • Social Work Post-Masters Fellowships are for candidates who have completed a master’s degree in social work and who need supervised clinical experience to obtain licensure. The positions provide direct clinical services including walk-in services, intake, individual and group psychotherapy, behavioral health interventions and crisis intervention to students attending the University of Colorado Boulder. Positions are a 40-hour/week, two-year commitment.

  • Emory University Counseling & Psychological Services, Post-MSW Graduate Fellowship

    This is a paid advanced clinical training program designed for the pre-licensed clinical social worker to advance and deepen their clinical skills using a brief therapy model, as well as some longer-term psychotherapy experience. Services provided will typically include individual, couple and group modalities. Fellows gain supervised experience providing diagnostic assessments, brief psychotherapy, outreach, case management and crisis intervention. The center is comprised of a multidisciplinary senior staff of social workers and psychologists, along with trainees in both disciplines.

  • Kaiser Permanente Fellowship

    Kaiser Permanente Northern California offers training via its post-master’s fellowship program, which provides advanced training and clinical supervision. The fellowship meets the requirements for supervised training for associate marriage and family therapists, associate clinical social workers, and associate professional clinical counselors working toward licensure and follows guidelines set forth by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

  • Maria Droste Counseling Center Fellows

    The post-graduate fellowship program is an opportunity for pre-licensed mental health clinicians who have completed a master's/doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology, social work, school counseling or marriage and family therapy. Fellows must be working toward licensure in Colorado in their fields.

  • TEXAS A&M College of Medicine Fellowship

    The Social Work Post Graduate Program provides 1–2 year of post-master's graduate training with extensive clinical experience, supervision and educational opportunities in clinical social work while working toward independent licensure.
